Women, Work, and Community’s Advisory Council

Makes a Big sheJAMs Impact Celebrating 35 years!

Women, Work, and Community’s (WWC) Advisory Council Chair Sarah Halpin will be competing in the REV3 sheJAMs Triathalon for the second time. This year, she will be completing her second Olympic Distance after finishing her first Half Iron in 2012. Sarah says her training this year is going great; although her first open water swim training this summer was cold!

Sarah is with The Danforth Group of Wells Fargo Advisors, a generous sponsor of the sheJAMs Triathlon. Halpin has encouraged her co-worker Heather Levasseur to put together a team to also benefit WWC.

Please support Sarah, pictured here running in the recent London Marathon, by contributing to her fundraising page; or Heather’s Team C.A.R.E . Tri-Relay Team. Both benefit WWC.

In addition, we extend a special thanks to another WWC Advisory Council Member Deirdre Wadsworth of Hardy Pond Construction for the generous sheJAMs sponsorship!  She is also participating as an expectant mother.  Click here to find out more.  Deirdre is pictured here at five-and-a-half months pregnant at the end of a successful bike ride.

Girls on the Run

Girls on the Run – Maine is thrilled to be one of the beneficiaries of this year’s SheJams REV3 tri!  Our Newsletter Coordinator, our Volunteer Coordinator, and several of our regular volunteers are registered for the event; and fundraising for GOTR-ME.  Each $150 raised goes a long way towards helping our girls.  $150 can provide a full scholarship for a girl to participate, coaching supplies for two teams, or medals and t-shirts for 15 participants!

GOTR-ME is excited to promote the event, and to support SheJams by recruiting our incredible volunteers to help out the weekend of the Tri.
