12-week Triathlon Training program

We will be offering a 12-week Triathlon Training program.  All abilities are welcome to join! It doesn’t matter if you are new to triathlon or training for your first half ironman.  We will make sure you will run through the finish line in top shape!

All participants of the full triathlon training will receive a training program to do in addition to meeting three times week.

SWIM:

The first 5 weeks are in the pool for instruction, then we go to open water.  We have two pool locations to choose from.  

Cumberland, Greely High School

Sunday
TECHNIQUE - Beginner 4 – 4:45 pm
TECHNIQUE - Intermediate 4:45 – 5:30 pm
MASTERS - Advanced - 5 – 6 pm

SWIM DATES:

Westbrook Community Pool

Thursday
TECHNIQUE - Beginners & Intermediate
5:30 – 6:30 pm

SWIM DATES:
April 26  May 3, 10, 17, 24

Open Water 

Both Pool Sessions will come together to swim open water. 

All open water swims are Monday’s from 6 – 7 pm
First 4 weeks will be in Crystal Lake in Gray, ME
Last 3 weeks will be at SMCC in the ocean

OPEN WATER SWIM DATES:
May 28(off) June 4,11,18,25 July 2,9,16

BIKE:

SATURDAY
8 am – We bike train in various locations to change up the scenery and terrain. We will spend sufficient time on the Tri for a Cure bike course so you will know it well on race day! Some Wednesday evenings will be substituted for Saturdays.

RUN:

TUESDAY
6 – 7 pm
Park & Ride, Marginal Way,  Portland.  Each workout is designed by a certified run coach that will provide you with information as to how to run more efficiently and effectively. 

RUN DATES:
May 1,8,15,22,28  June 5,12,19,26   July 3,10,17

NUTRITION:

We have a NUTRITION Coach that available to all in the full triathlon participants.   Karen Knapton is our on-staff nutritionist. She will offer nutritional advice while you are training.   Karen will also be available to answer your questions!
