Space is limited, be sure to get in. The evening always starts with great food, wine and friends. We will have the latest in women’s cycling clothing and bikes. We’re very pleased to have Elysa Walk, GM of Giant Bicycle, the highest ranking female executive in the bike industry, coming in to talk about her adventures on the Formosa 900 – an eight-day, 900-kilometer cycling tour of Taiwan. There will be a fashion show hosted by the famous Lori Voornas, from WJBQ! You know there will be plenty of surprises during the evening & great deals! So, invite your cycling girlfriends and enjoy massages, giveaways and special pricing on women’s items purchased that night. Remember that every purchase helps support the Women’s Cancer Fund through the Maine Cancer Foundation. Doing good while having fun…what could be better!

“Divas For A Cure”, MRC Portland

Maine Running Company will host “Divas For A Cure” A girls night out to support the Maine Cancer Foundation and it’s fight against Breast Cancer on Wed, April 27, 7pm, featuring a Spring Running/Triathlon Fashion Show on the MRC Saucony Track Runway to showcase the 2011 Spring Running & Tri Gear.  MRC will raffle off Five Tri For A Cure Entries.  Raffle tickets can be purchased at $25 each and there is no limit to how many raffle tickets you can purchase.    The first 25 women who buy one or more raffle tickets receive a pink Asics Tech T, courtesy of MRC.     Refreshments, Wine & Hors d’oeuvres courtesy of MRC.   http://www.mainerunning.com/component/option,com_events/Itemid,41/agid,413/catids,23%7C25/day,27/month,04/task,view_detail/year,2011/

Thank you for joining, spreading the word and contributing to a great community!  In our first year we have:

Attracted more than a hundred members.

Given several scholarships to individuals to help them be a part of our community.

Helped 30+ women finish their first triathlon.

Created a sheJAMs gives back program and donated money to the Maine Cancer Foundation, sponsored a family at Christmas time through Goodwill, and collected neccessities and more for a family who lost it all in a fire. 

Provided several spots to our members who did not get in to the Tri For a Cure.

Volunteered at various races and events.

Got stronger through strength training.

Got faster running.

Improved in the water.

Accomplished many ”Firsts”:

     Open water swim

    5K, 10K, and 1/2 marathon

     50 mile bike ride

     &

     Ran in the snow and biked in the rain.

Partnered with great companies to offer services and products at a discount to our members!
